A Celebration of Poetry with Voice Versa

Nottinghamshire group Voice Versa has given over 100 performances to numerous local organisations and groups over the past 7 years.

It has been regularly involved in readings for the Southwell Bramley Apple poetry Competitions and, as part of “The Nine” in performing Paul Mein’s Easter Cycle Voices in a Mystery.

Games of Remembrance

Notts County FC and Nottingham Forest FC

The Army men’s and women’s teams will both be taking part in the 2018 Games of Remembrance to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

The teams will play their opposite numbers from the German Bundeswehr. The women’s match will kick off at 12noon at Meadow Lane, the home of Notts County, and the men’s match at 7pm at the City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest.

A family ticket (one adult and two children) to the women's afternoon game at Notts County football ground in Meadow Lane will cost £5. Kick-off will be at 12pm. 

For the evening match at the City Ground, entry for two adults and two children will be £10. Kick-off will be at 7pm. 

There is a £2.50 concession price to both matches for any uniformed services, U16s, students and senior citizens.

Childrens's Poppy Exhibition at Thoresby Gallery

Join us on Sunday 11th November at 11am to commemorate Armistice Day's 100th anniversary. We asked local primary school children to colour in templates of poppies for us to display in our Poppy Exhibition. Come along, view our poppy field and display inside the Thoresby Gallery and remember our forgotten heroes. The exhibition opens on Sunday 11th November at 11.02am after our two minutes silence and will run until Sunday 25th.

Farnsfield's Big Turn On

Following the success of the last two years Farnsfield Parish Council are hoping that this will be the best event yet.

The road from the junction of Tippings Lane and Main Street to the entrance to the Coop car park will be closed to allow the crowds to gather safely and listen to Farnsfield School choir sing Christmas songs whilst the lights are switched on . 

Farnsfield Pre-School will be selling sundries and Anthony from the Coop is sponsoring the event and will be selling refreshments in aid of the new Parish notice board. 

Marc Hazard is supplying the tree and with help from his wife Tracey , dressing it . The scouts are hosting a chritsmas Fair in the lower hall of the village centre with refreshments from 5-7:30 pm . There will be late opeing events at woodberry coffee shop and the Veg shop, Main street.  Bubbly Bob is hsoting a christmas quiz at the plough inn from 8pm.
