Kerbside glass recycling service
We are delighted to be bringing a free wheeled bin kerbside glass recycling service to Newark and Sherwood as it means that across the district we will be able to recycle glass bottles and jars from kerbsides.
Key information about our service
This will be a free service and you will be given a new, smaller 140 litre wheelie bin. Collections will take place every eight weeks and we plan to begin delivering bins to households later this financial year.
I’ve received a letter about this service
That’s great! We have written to all residents who live in Newark and Sherwood, to find out who will be using our service. We are now working on planning our collection rounds and start working towards rolling the service out. While we don’t have an exact date yet, we’ll keep you posted via our website and social media channels.
If you live in, or have friends in, certain areas in the north-west of our district (around Ollerton, Boughton, Edwinstowe, Bilsthorpe and Eakring for example), you / they will have received a different letter from us because some kerbside glass provision is offered there already. If you live in this area, you can find some more information about this service, which is provided by Recycling Ollerton and Boughton (ROB), on their website. Copies of the letters can be found below:
Letter to those living outside of the ROB collection area (PDF File, 1,587kb)
Letter to those living within the ROB collection area (PDF File, 509kb)
The form to let us know if you would like to opt out of our Kerbside Glass Recycling Service has now expired, but you can still let us know if you would like to opt out of the service.
