National Civil War Centre

Pride in the Past Events - February 2026

The National Civil War Centre is proud to present Pride in the Past, our first LGBTQ+ history programme.

Inspired by our Creative Influencers and a commitment to sharing diverse stories, this February our collections will include a host of stories related to LGBTQ+ history, as well as hosting a series of special events celebrating identity, history, and community as part of LGBTQ+ History Month.

This inspiring programme offers visitors the chance to explore the past in ways that feel both fresh and deeply relevant. The events are designed to be welcoming, encouraging everyone, whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community or not, to join in and see history from a different perspective.
