Historical Tours Return to Newark's Streets

The National Civil War Centre is pleased to welcome visitors back out into the streets of Newark with the return of its popular historical tours programme.

Led by knowledgeable guides, these tours invite participants to explore the town’s landmarks, stories and landscapes on foot, uncovering how centuries of conflict, community and change have shaped Newark as we know it today. From ancient street patterns and castle walls to reminders of siege, survival and resilience, each walk reveals history where it happened.

Running regularly from May to October, the programme offers something for curious first‑time visitors and returning history enthusiasts alike, with tours beginning at the National Civil War Centre.
